If your opponent proposes a takeback after making what's obviously mouseslip, do you accept it?

The time control definitely matters, I'd say. I'm thinkng of a rapid or classical game here tho. The most common ones are when someone plays a bizarre Kf1, like, they definitely meant castles and the king slipped on the f1 square instead. Sometimes they propose takeback and I accept but other times they just try to play with their king on f1 and their rook blocked in lol
@bernkastelhues. Accept if you want. Don't if you do not want. It's your right to accept or decline. EDIT. NEVER accept a takeback and expect that they NEED to repay the favour. They don't have to.
Make your own move first. Then ask for a takeback. When they accept your takeback they will ask again for their takeback. Don't give them their takeback just make your move again. They will lose a little time thinking you are going to offer another takeback but you aren't, you're just sitting there laughing. If you really want to annoy your opponent say 'Sorry' and then do it again.
I always accept the takeback in these situations. I am here to play some chess and hopefully learn something. I think by not doing so you are usually wasting both your own and your opponent's time and I have to reason to do that.
Definitely. If it’s incredibly obvious it wouldn’t be an official win and you wouldn’t get better
I accept the takeback when my opponent mouseslips, but I don't mind if the opponent declines my takeback in the opposite situation.
@Ameershahul29 For instance, Kf1 instead of castles, or capturing a piece back but mouseslipping to land one square before the one which was to be captured on
All the best
I think it depends on the game, for the shorter duration games I wouldn't accept a takeback, that is part of the time limit which can sometimes lead to stuoid mistakes (well for me anyway), for the longer games where you are amploying more strategy then maybe so long as the takeback was asked for immediately and not after several minutes thinking. I never ask for a take back
