Anybody experience mental autopilot (esp in blitz)?

Here I am playing a couple of blitz games and with decent to excellent calculation.

Maybe for the first 5 - 7 games at least. If I dare continue blitzing, I subconsciously play "logical-looking" moves and then get stomped our outcalculated.

Range of opponents are 1900 to 2000, nothing master level.
