"Best" move in training

I've failed multiple training puzzles because I found a move that led to mate, but not as quickly as the "correct" move. E.g. In 19959 I played Rd8, which leads to mate (in about 10, depending on which line you follow) but failed, because Rd7 leads to mate in 2. Why should a quicker mate be preferred over a longer mate? Mate is mate.
If there's a mate in 2 which you didn't spot then it's unlikely that you actually saw the whole mate in 10. It's also questionable whether you would have finished off the mate in 10 during a game.

It's still good training if you try to find the quickest mate, even if it's not necessary in an actual game.

Sometimes you might have a point where there's a mate in 3 instead of a mate in 2, but just down vote these puzzles if you see them.
Only 10 or so puzzles later I get 18100. Ne3 is mate in 3, but fails because there is Qf2 mate in 2. Just downvoting would be nice, if others did the same so the puzzle didn't show up, but apparently they don't, and so they're everywhere.

Also, it is not questionable whether I'd have gotten the mate in 10, as essentially only the first move involved any thought, the rest were just rounding up the king and/or computer-like blocks that obviously didn't work. A mate in 10 can be just as easy as a mate in 2 if the moves are more natural.
I agree with @OperadicScheme. It makes no sense to penalise longer mate if it leads to mate. If Lichess doesn't want to allow the longer mate, at least force the user to select a better move, not mark it as a failure. Here is one that I just got:

After:
Qxh4, Kg7
Rb7, Kg8

I did Qh7 with the idea of Qf7 mate. However it is marked as wrong because Qd8 is one move faster. That's absurd.
