Chess + Rubiks cube

Artichoke96, what does it consist of?? I also got my own method but never developed it seriously, but 30-40 secs solves were possible imo
I use CFOP for 3x3, Yau for 4x4, and reduction for 5x5+. I average a bit under 15 seconds for 3x3, but I mostly solve 5x5 and up.

Anyone looking for a good 3x3 method should use either CFOP or Roux, with CFOP being the easier choice for getting under 30 seconds quickly but Roux being a more interesting method with perhaps a higher ceiling.

To anyone looking for info on solving methods or for a place to discuss cubing, I'll leave a link to one of the biggest cubing-related forums. I can also answer some questions here if anyone wants; I'm much more knowledgeable about cubing than about chess. :P

Yeah CFOP (aka Friedrich) and Roux are now the most used methods by far
pita96, I was told the firsts steps to follow, first the top edges then the top corners and finally the central edges. I had to find the algorithms but I think they are very similar to the beginners method. For the bottom layer I use R'F'UFRBU'B' to orientate the edges and RU'U'R'U'RU'R' to order them. For the bottom corners I used to have a very long method using RU'U'R'U'RUR'U'RU'R' and R'D'RUR'DRU'U'R'D'RUR'DR but I improved it and now I only use U'R'UL U'RUL' (and UMMUMMUUMMUMMU).
The first algorithm for the bottom corners is RU'U'R'U'RUR'U'RUR'U'RU'R', sorry.
An "intuitive" one, if we can call it this way.
What about RU'L'UR'U'L insted of U'R'UL U'RUL'? Feels faster to my hands.
I use both as they are symmetric. I'm not used to RU'L'UR'U'L as much but I'll start to practice it, thank you.
I can't really explain it sorry, and in any case it is not efficient enough to be considered a good method for speedsolving^^
I actually speed solve as well. My pb is 11 seconds too, but I normally average around 20-22 seconds (ranging from mid-high teens to low-mid 20's). I use the CFOP/Jessica Fridrich method--I know all 21 PLL algs and about 35 or so of the 57 OLLs. I'm working on improving my look ahead, as well as gradually developing my OLL. If anybody wants some help, I'd be willing to swap for some chess help!! :D
