In a recent match I played my opponent managed to lock my king up in the middle of the board, but most of the pieces had already been cleared off and the areas around it were well-secured, so I wasn't
particularly worried. I was actually hoping for him to try a pawn check so I could take en passant and have a nice passed pawn approaching his side of the board. Unfortunately, what I didn't expect
was after the pawn check the game automatically said checkmate without allowing me to capture--my only legal move. My opponent thought it was weird too, so I took a screenshot and uploaded it to
tinypic.
