Have the ratings changed recently?

I used to have a Blitz rating of 1950-2000 on here (as recently as July 2022)
Came back 2 weeks ago and having a tough time. Currently rated 1750 and the 1700 players I used to beat easily are giving me a TOUGH time.
Have the ratings been altered lately or am I just REALLY tired and off my game?
no, the ratings haven't changed, its normal to play tired, or to be slower when coming back after a break, dont worry too much
Is it a coincidence that you fail on 1300 rated puzzles?

Maybe you should drill some puzzles because you seem to miss simple mates.
Hello. Your rating only goes back to mid september, if I checked correctly. Did you have another account in july?

Haha, checking up on me are you? Yeah, I think I must just be crazy tired. I genuinely was at 1900-2000 here (for years on end) just 2 weeks ago.

I am gonna hit the puzzle board and blast my way back up. No more messing around, lol. You'll see
Never underestimate how much Elo you drop when tired. A few weeks ago I played when tired and frustrated and was losing to 1400s over and over. At one moment, I stopped and thought to myself "What am I doing?"

What was I doing? I was just playing moves without even thinking. Flicking pieces around on the chess board with no thought put into them whatsoever.

I went to sleep. When I played chess a few days later when I was refreshed, I was back to my best. Also, 10 mins of puzzles warm up can help.

Yeah, you are so right. Part of my problem is that I play Blitz, and there is less time to think.
When I am on my game, I can kind of "read the mind" of other players, I get to a stage where I can see what they are trying to do and beat them that way (well with the stronger players I cant, lol).

But in the last week I have been playing move after move, trying to use tactics instead of a strategy and every player is outwitting me. Need to get a new mindset to get back up to the 2000s.
