Settings is saved on your browser cache, in the form of cookies.

Sounds like you have deleted cookies from your browser cache?
In which case, you must set your computer/phone to memorize your Lichess history.
Or when you clean your browser's memory, make sure it doesn't clean the Lichess cookies.

Cookies are yummy! Why would he delete it?

you can check for yourself - press the exit of their account - and the settings go astray

I think this is incorrect behavior.

no one clears cookies manually - this is the behavior of the site

No, it's not.
As @NaturalBornTraveller pointed out in #2, the normal behavior is that settings are kept, that's how it works for me and AFAIK for everyone.

I think your "settings" (I assume you refer to things such as the lobby filter or whether you played certain variant so no warning dialog is shown when you take a challenge, etc) are stored in your browser's local storage (not cookies).

If you lose them without manually clearing your browser's data, then they're not being properly stored, which can happen if for example you're using a browser in incognito mode (well, they're stored during the session but they won't be there next time you open the browser) or if you have some extension that blocks it.

It could also be a bug, but it would be a really weird one if it's only affecting you.

1) set of pieces, the color of the board, etc
2) log in to your account and do the same there
3) log out of account
4) - we have lost all the settings - this is the behavior of the site, my browser has nothing to do with it, stop talking about cookies and incognito - I know what it is and I have no problems with it

I meant that the settings should be saved when I'm not logged in

I sometimes play without a login so as not to spoil my rating

and I have to choose everything again

I don't think it's logical

what was selected 1 time - should never be reset

who needs it - let it reset itself
